As Manager of Global Personal Care Cleansing Product Development at Colgate-Palmolive, Cheryl currently leads a team that develops new technologies and formulations for shower gels and liquid hand soaps for Colgate’s Personal Care brands including Palmolive, Protex, Softsoap, Irish Spring & Sanex. Through this role, she is responsible for formula innovation, product savings initiatives, claims substantiation, and global cleansing formula strategy. In addition, Cheryl has a lead role for R&D technical coordination with Colgate’s newest Personal Care brands, PCA Skin and Elta MD to integrate them into the Colgate family. Over her past 22 years at Colgate, Cheryl has developed an expertise in Personal Care formulation as she has worked in several areas including Hair Care Early Research, Underarm Product Development, Implementation & Support, and Sanex R&D. During this time she was a contributing author to the Hair Conditioners chapter in the Handbook of Cosmetic Science & Technology (Second, Third & Fourth editions), granted 2 US patents and 2 WO patents, recipient of 9 regional “ You Can Make a Difference “ awards and 1 Global "You Can Make a Difference" Award, which is a unique recognition by Colgate's CEO, for the development of Sanex Advanced, a body care regimen, developed with leading international dermatologists aimed to deliver advanced skin health benefits to the mass-market consumer. In addition to the technical areas, Cheryl works to develop the next generation of scientists as she feels strongly that mentoring early is key to building successful careers and pipeline of talented scientists.
