Elsa joined Colgate-Palmolive in Mexico City, 25 years ago. She started her career in the Procurement area where she defined and implemented sourcing strategies and negotiations. Later, she moved as the Oral Care Technical Manager for Latin America. There, Elsa implemented the technical plans for the toothpaste product launches and enhancements, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements and deadlines.
Currently she is based in the Piscataway, NJ Technology Center. She manages the Global Quality System to assure it follows a clear risk management philosophy and is focused to ensure production quality, regulatory compliance and process continuous improvement. To these ends, her responsibility is to develop the tools, global procedures and training-learning material for the Colgate’s Quality Systems for the manufacturing and technology sites.
As part of her accomplishments, Elsa was member of the Contract Manufacturers Task Force where she defined and implemented the Global Governance and Management procedure. It involved the Quality Control mandatory activities, Key Performance Indicators and the closing the gap implementation plan. The initiative brought simplification and risk reduction to the business.
Elsa also led the Supplier’s Audit Program, bringing discipline to the teams enforcing appropriate documentation of the process. She developed the tools to create reports and analytics, as the base to better understand the status and risks. These activities drove a more effective decision-making process to reduce identified high risks with suppliers.
Today, Elsa is developing the analytics for several Quality programs, to make data available and insightful, bringing more agility, efficiency and effectiveness to Colgate.
