Geraldine Smith has a diverse background in the energy, pharmaceutical, biotech and consumer products industries. Gerry is currently Deputy General Counsel and Managing Director, Environment, at Public Service Enterprise Group, a diversified energy company whose family of companies include one of the largest combined electric and gas companies in the United States and a leading independent power producer, where Gerry directs the environmental legal practice. Gerry is also responsible for developing and implementing corporate environmental policy, working with lines of business, public affairs and external stakeholders to identify and manage risks associated with regulatory, legislative and policy developments and to maintain and enhance business value and growth. During her tenure with the Company, Gerry has also overseen the Company’s EHS audit and sustainability programs. Prior to joining PSEG, Gerry held the position of Vice President, Environment, Health & Safety and Associate General Counsel at Wyeth, one of the world’s largest research-driven pharmaceutical and health care products companies. Gerry served as the Chair of the Diversity Council for Wyeth’s corporate headquarters, and as a member of the Wyeth Global Diversity Council. Earlier in her career, Gerry was in the corporate department of the law firm of Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine before joining the corporate finance and transactional group of the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States. Gerry is a summa cum laude graduate of Wesleyan University, and received her J.D. from New York University School of Law.
