Marianne Santo is a Category Manager for Produce and Floral at Wakefern. Her responsibilities include the procurement of high volume produce items, coordinating special deliveries and interfacing with all levels of associates.
Starting as a Store Services Clerk in 1985, Marianne has held positions of increased difficulty and importance. In a traditionally male-dominated industry, Marianne's hard work and success have made it easier for other women to be recognized and accepted. Her dedication and knowledge are widely respected from the ranks of our Members and stores. She has the ability to work through the complexities of multiple warehouse buying as well as domestic and international sourcing. Marianne is relied upon as a teacher and mentor to the next generation of analysts, buyers and category managers. She is also the Produce and Floral division liaison to the Catering sub-committee. She was called upon in 2015 to represent Wakefern working with the Government Relations committee and NJ Food Council regarding new legislation from the NJ local program.
Marianne participated as a "Thought Leader in the Produce Industry" at the NY Produce show in 2016 attended by nearly 5000 participants. Marianne is the First Vice-President of the Eastern Produce Council. She is the first woman to serve as an executive officer and in 2019 will become the first female President in its 51 year history.
