Yan’s current responsibilities include the day-to-day supervision of ExxonMobil’s Pilot Plant and Engineering Labs Operations group. In addition to overseeing the laboratory, chemical and mechanical stockroom operations, she also stewards drum storage, hazardous waste management, solvent dispensing, cylinder and liquid nitrogen operations, chemical shipping and receiving and photographic/audio visual services.
Yan’s accomplishments include stockroom throughput of $100M/year, and she consistently achieved annual savings of approximately $100k by proactively identifying and capturing inventory optimization opportunities. In the area of hazardous waste handling and disposals, Yan’s vigilance was highlighted when the facility consistently passed unannounced regulatory hazardous waste compliance inspections with zero violations. Yan is an effective gatekeeper in ensuring that all her resources are well trained in the shipment of products and chemicals, a highly complex task requiring compliance to various regulatory agencies such as Department of Transportation and International Air Transportation Association. These accomplishments in savings and regulatory compliance reflects her strong ownership and commitment to operations excellence and enable her to regularly exceed the base expectations of her role.
In general administration, she excels in helping focus resources towards appropriate opportunities. She is able to identify the strengths of her staff and assign tasks that will allow them to use those strengths to establish greater relationship with customers from various business units. In addition to running a highly motivated staff, her interpersonal skills help to influence key people in the team/organization and those up in management chain thereby helping her achieve the goals and objectives of her operations.
