As Project Manager of Cyber Security, Mary is responsible for all facets of Wakefern's cyber security program. In her position, she is constantly challenged by the ever changing landscape of cyber security. With this she must be agile in architecting and implementing new policies, processes and procedures to combat threats to the organization. This includes firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, identity management, cloud security and monitoring systems to protect stores, warehouses and corporate systems. Her role also includes managing a security operations team, whose role is to investigate cyber incidents. In addition, she leads Wakefern’s PCI compliance program. Mary has consistently implemented enterprise-wide security systems utilizing a Defense-in-Depth philosophy.
Mary started her career at Schering-Plough as an engineer. She quickly gravitated towards information technology. After several years in an IT role in the engineering department, she left Schering and joined Wakefern. Since joining Wakefern in 1989, Mary has held various positions in IT Infrastructure, including systems administration, networking, and corporate messaging. Mary has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. She also holds a security certification in penetration testing and ethical hacking from GIAC (Global Information Assurance Certification). She lives in Linden, NJ with her two Beagles, Sam and Tilly.
