It also utilizes an innovative water loss management system to keep its lost water average about 10 percent lower than the state average.

The company provides a robust community education and outreach program that includes participation in community events with customer information and a mobile “H2O on the Go” water station, a speaker’s bureau providing presentations to schools and community groups, plant tours and other outreach efforts. Bayway Refinery is one of fifteen refineries owned and operated by Phillips 66. Bayway is the largest refinery on the East Coast, operating for over 110 years, and is a key asset to the region and the State of New Jersey. Bayway Refinery provides over 1,000 direct jobs. Bayway Refinery has been providing residents and businesses in the region with fuels, plastics, and other products which have been improving people’s lives for more than a century. The Bayway Refinery earned the nickname “The Gasoline Machine” because it is home to the largest fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit in the Western Hemisphere, enabling the refinery to produce enough gasoline to meet 40% of New Jersey’s annual demand. Every 8 seconds the refinery produces enough gasoline to supply the average driver’s vehicle for a year. Products are distributed primarily to East Coast customers via barges, trucks, pipelines, and railcars, and include: Gasoline, Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel, Jet Fuel, Bunker Fuel Oil, Propane (LPG), Propylene, Polypropylene (Plastics), Butane, and Iso-Butylene. Bayway Refinery is a safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operation that provides highly valued products. The refinery has a long-held commitment to the environment and with utilization of the latest available technology. The Wet Gas Scrubber graces the Bayway skyline; one of the most effective pollution control devices in the world. Bayway, is committed to providing energy and improving lives and is advancing transition to a lower-carbon future wherever possible in our operations. Bayway safety performance is regularly in the top 1-2% of all refineries in the United States, and the refinery has been awarded numerous AFPM safety awards. Bayway maintains an open dialogue with neighboring communities through the Bayway Community Advisory Panel. Our five Bayway Employee Resource Groups (ERG’s) foster engagement in company programs and are also instrumental in facilitating community outreach.
