Since joining Wakefern Food Corp. in 1985, Ann Murphy has enjoyed a variety of roles across the organization.
She is currently a manager in the Digital, Commerce & Analytics division working on Strategic Initiatives. Prior to that, she was a project manager responsible for Consumer Insights. Murphy previously spent 17 years in procurement, serving as a category manager in the Grocery and NonFoods divisions. In 2011, 3M Home Care Division named Murphy “Category Manager of the Year – Grocery Division” for the Eastern United States. Murphy spent time in Corporate Marketing supporting Wakefern’s e-commerce initiatives. She was a member of the team that launched the first ShopRite from Home store. She would further support e-commerce initiatives as part of a team that shipped NonFoods products direct to consumers. Murphy has received the Wakefern Customer Service Excellence Award twice during her 33-year tenure for her commitment to delivering excellence to Wakefern’s customers, members and staff. Murphy serves as president of the Metuchen High School Music Parents Association, volunteers alongside hundreds of Wakefern associates annually at the New Jersey Special Olympics Summer Games, and is a member of the Network of Executive Women New York Metro Steering Committee. She also enjoys running with the Wakefern Run/Walk Club. Ann met her husband, Jim, also a Wakefern associate, 30 years ago. They are proud of their three children: Caroline, EJ and Matthew.
