Courtney A. Fagan
Senior Legislative Representative
​Wakefern Food Corp
Courtney A. Fagan serves as the Senior Legislative Representative for Wakefern Food Corp, where her responsibilities include day to day management of the Wakefern Government Relations team, legislative advocacy in 10 states, and advancing the mission and vision of a leading food industry government relations division.

In her role with Wakefern, Courtney focuses her efforts on state and federal legislative advocacy, grassroots development projects, external and internal policy communication, constituency relations, and business policy planning. Additionally, she developed and launched the V.O.I.C.E (Vote. Opinion. Inform. Communicate. Engage) get-out-the-vote program, which educates and encourages Wakefern associates to make their voices heard by participating in the voting process.

Since joining Wakefern in 2008, she has been involved in countless legislative and regulatory matters facing the Cooperative, including labor, financial, environmental, and agricultural issues. She has been a key figure in campaigns regarding wine in grocery stores, sugar sweetened beverage taxes, and bottle laws. She also chairs the New Jersey Food Council Environmental Affairs Committee.

Courtney earned her Masters of Arts degree in Corporate and Public Communication from Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Trinity College, Washington, DC. She began her career as a journalist for The Coast Star newspaper in Manasquan, NJ. She then transitioned into legislative policy work as the Director of Legislative Affairs and Communications for New Jersey State Senator Joseph M. Kyrillos, Jr., before joining Wakefern.

She lives in Oakhurst, NJ with her husband Michael Stewart and their Mini-Schnauzer, Nelson.
