​Valerie joined Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ (Horizon) in July 2017 after an extensive career in NJ State Government, including serving as the longest standing Medicaid Director in NJ. Valerie brought her passion, knowledge and commitment to Medicaid members, community partners, providers and health policy when she joined the Horizon team. Valerie is currently serving as the Director of Policy Integration & Transformation, Government Programs at Horizon where she uses her leadership skills to drive implementation of various innovative initiatives including addressing social determinants of health, providing integrated physical and behavioral health care solutions, and representing Horizon at various State, federal, and policy meetings.
