Our mission is to honor women who have excelled in their fields and made significant contributions to industry in executive, managerial and professional roles and to salute corporations whose policies and practices encourage high achievement by women and who promote equal advancement opportunities for women of diverse backgrounds. Through TWIN, the YWCA encourages women to consider and to prepare for a wider range of career opportunities and to help make significant contributions to the workplace. TWIN stimulates, in a positive way, an increased awareness of untapped talents of managerial and professional women in the corporate world. To the honoree, the TWIN Award provides recognition for her outstanding contributions to her company. To her co-workers, the TWIN Award provides motivation and elicits pride. To the sponsoring company, the TWIN Award offers a public forum for recognition of their diversity initiatives and progressive personnel policies. All resources generated through the generous sponsorship and support of our corporations make TWIN and other YWCA programs possible and allow us to continue preparing women and girls for the 21st century work force.
